The Caribbean ASEAN Council purposely encompasses the sixteen (16) independent countries and eighteen (18) associated territories in the Caribbean and the ten (10) nations in Southeast Asia. We also work in selected Latin American countries. These sovereign states and associated territories are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the Organization of American States (OAS), the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) and other intergovernmental bodies.

Latin American Countries

The Caribbean ASEAN Council is an international civil society volunteer advocacy programme registered with the NGO Branch of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA). The Council is a global, non-government, and non-profit association formed under Swiss law in accordance with the European Convention on the Recognition of the Legal Personality of International Non-Governmental Organizations. It is listed on the European Union's Transparency Register with identification number 063886638002-22, and recorded by the Union of International Associations (UIA) with number AA2151. The Council is also a Lifetime Member of CIVICUS - the World Alliance for Citizen Participation.
